报告人简介：

Dr.Despang obtained her PhD in 2021 from the Free University of Berlin and the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics, where she studied how three-dimensional genome organization influences developmental gene regulation. During her postdoctoral research at the Berlin Institute of Health at Charité Berlin, she focused on developing high-throughput genome engineering approaches to generate genetic disease models and investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying rare developmental disorders. SHe joined Nature Biotechnology in 2022 and currently handle manuscripts across several areas, including genome editing, delivery technologies, and epigenetics.

Have you ever wondered how editors and reviewers assess scientific manuscripts? In this seminar, Dr.Despang will share insights from my experience as an editor at Nature Biotechnology on the publication process, from initial editorial evaluation to peer review and final decisions. The focus will be on practical best practices for engaging with editors, responding constructively to reviewer comments, and navigating revisions effectively. Dr.Despang will also discuss common reasons manuscripts encounter difficulties during assessment and/or review and offer suggestions for improving the clarity and impact of a submission.
