Universiti Malaya(马来亚大学)Senior Lecturer,本科及研究生导师。于2010 年在马来亚大学获得博士班学位后便任教于该校理学院生物科学系。由2006年起始成为大学植物标本馆馆长,且于2022年兼任大学植物园园长至今。有丰富的野外考察经验且在多个学术期刊发表论文50余篇,且著有马来西亚半岛与新加坡藓类名录(2013年)。研究项目多为苔藓与蕨类分类,近年也参与了植物保育与民族植物学研究。

Upper Baram, a botanically underexplored region is characterized by dense tropical rainforests and diverse ethnic communities. This study aims to document the moss diversity in important conservation sites such as Long Banga and Gerenai-Long Mekaba within the Ulu Baram region, presenting the findings of the Heart of Borneo scientific expedition carried out in 2016 and 2022. A total of 200 species and 5 varieties in 83 genera and 34 families were determined. Interestingly, 7 species were identified new to Borneo Island and 37 species & infraspecies documented during this study are new records for Sarawak. Several rare species, generally confined to the deep interior rainforest and of higher conservation value are present in the study area. In a nutshell, the pristine environment of Upper Baram supports numerous endemics together with several rare and conservation important species, emphasizing the high conservation value of this region. Batu Caves and the Takun Hill Complex are the two southernmost prominent karst outcrops on the Continental Asian mainland. Between 2018 and 2025, both sites were repeatedly surveyed for bryophytes: 55 species at Batu Caves and 66 species at Takun Hill. However, the species composition differs significantly between the two sites, suggesting ecological divergence potentially driven by urban-related pressures. This study highlights the impact of urban proximity and land-use intensity on moss diversity and composition in limestone ecosystems. The findings highlight the need for more nuanced conservation planning that considers both biological richness and ecological integrity, particularly for karst landscapes that are increasingly isolated and stressed by metropolitan expansion.
